At the first appointment a detailed history of the problem will be taken and from this I will decide which therapy or combination of therapies will be used to help the client to bring about the desired change as quickly as possible. This usually takes about half an hour and providing a decision is made to go ahead, an hour is then allowed for the therapy.
Any subsequent sessions should take an hour.
Sometimes positive suggestions, whilst in hypnosis, are sufficient for change or it may be necessary to go back to the first time the unwanted reaction took place. Sometimes change can be made in one session. Generally three to five sessions are sufficient but this depends on how many aspects there are to the problem
Stopping smoking usually takes just one session of one and half hours. The important thing is that you want to stop. If however you would prefer a staged withdrawal from smoking, this can be done over three sessions.
After a hypnotherapy session , you will usually feel relaxed, refreshed, content, confident and fully awake. |
