Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP)

NLP refers to the way we communicate with the world: through our mind (senses), our communications (both internal and external dialogue), and our internal programming/processing. These processes are shaped by our life experiences and can cause us to react in unwanted ways to certain stimuli, such as with a phobia.  There are NLP techniques which can be used either whilst in trance or not, which can bring about quite amazingly quick changes.  NLP techniques can be learnt, for instance to help one to stay calm in stressful situations or to change the way we view a traumatic event.

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Restructuring (EMDR)

EMDR uses sequences of eye movements to reprocess past experiences to help the mind to process them logically, so that they no longer cause the unwanted reaction to a fear, phobia or traumatic experience.  EMDR links up the emotional side of the brain (in which the traumatic memory is stuck) to the logical side of the brain so that it can be rationalised.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

EFT is a gentle technique of "psychological acupuncture".  Certain acupuncture points are gently tapped to balance the body's energy system.  EFT has many applications: cravings, fear, phobia's, guilt, shame, anger, change unwanted habits and behaviours.  It is very empowering to learn this technique.
